Bainbridge Island in Washington State
Spring has arrived in Washington State. That time of the year, when the rain diverts from our cities, and nature is so breathtaking. This is the perfect time to hop on a ferry and explore the Islands around the city of Seattle. When visiting Seattle, head to  Bainbridge Island, the jewel of Puget Sound, for a perfect day trip.
This small and charming island is located just 35 minutes away from Seattle. Take the ferry and enjoy gorgeous views of Elliot Bay and Mountain Rainier, as the Emerald City is waiving you goodbye. It’s pretty spectacular. The ferry is located at the Seattle Waterfront (Pier 52). Tickets can be purchased on site. They cost $8.56 per adult, and $4.30 per child. If you decide to take your car, it is $15.75 (including the fare for the driver, plus the walk-on fare for everyone else in the car). The ferries run every hour.
Bainbridge Island Museum of Art
Once you get off the ferry, head out to Downtown Bainbridge. First thing you’ll notice on the right hand side, will be the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. This museum offers a view of contemporary art and craft of the Puget Sound Region. Admission is free. Stroll a little more south, and you will stumble upon various little shops, galleries and restaurants. They all carry that cozy and rustic vibe that this Island is famous for. Either you wish to shop for clothing, for your pet, or your home, this place has it all.Â
Local Marina
While strolling around, make sure you get by the water, and visit their local Marina. Check out the gorgeous yachts that have just docked in, and enjoy the spring breeze by the Ocean.Â

One Response
Bainbridge Island is certainly a wonderful place to visit (and live too). As a Kitsap County resident, I’m glad you enjoyed your time here!
On a side note – “My Next Pin” caught my attention as I thought it referred to pinball. “Pinheads” (pinball enthusiasts) like me often refer to pinball games as “pins”. TRAVEL TIP: Seattle (including Bainbridge Island) is particularly recognized for its many pinball playing locations.
