My Favourite Coffee Places in Skopje
Coffee is an essential element of the social culture in Skopje. Therefore, making a visit to one or the many of the city’s cafes is an essential cultural experience. Skopje has so many choices when it comes to cafes and coffee shops that will satisfy any caffeine craving. You can find from traditional Turkish coffee to Ethiopian espresso, and even a peanut butter flavored brew.
Here is a list of our favorite coffee places in the capital city of North Macedonia.
Coffee Factory
If you are a fan of Lavazza, then Coffee Factory is your place. The café serves one of the best espressos in town. A good espresso requires a professional coffee machine, premium quality beans and a proper grinder – and Coffee Factory has it all. However, it is particularly known for its highly trained baristas. In addition to the extensive selection of Lavazza blends, the café serves delicious French eclairs which you must try – chocolate is our favorite one!
The Dude Specialty Coffee
If you want to try something special, visit The Dude Specialty Coffee, a cute little vintage coffee place. The coffee place is in a charming and cozy old house that offers nothing but good vibes. The café serves specialty coffee from around the world in beautiful vintage cups, which makes it a totally unique experience.
Zafir Pastry Shop
If you want to enrich your coffee experience and add cake, cookies, or ice cream (soo many delicious choices!), Zafir is the place to go. Zafir is a family candy shop with 30+ years of existence that serves Café Diemme, an Italian coffee brand. Soo, in addition to that great coffee cup, you can get a pastry of your choice as well.
Our favourite for lazy Sundays!
Mikel Coffee
If you are looking for that coffee chain (Starbucks) experience, visit Mikel, a Greek coffeehouse chain with over 300 stores in 15 countries. “MIKEL” stands for “Maybe it’s knowledge entering life”. Mikel is a perfect place for a break during a busy day, or the place to do some work while enjoying the wide variety of baked goods, drinks, or coffee choices.
Nargile Café
If you are looking to combine coffee with a taste of history, and try the Turkish coffee, visit Nargile Café in the Old Bazaar. The place will take you back in the Ottoman era and serve the coffee in special little cups alongside a piece of lokum (a sweet Turkish delight).
