Top 10 things to do and see
Palm Beach is a destination in South Florida known for its glamorous estates, posh lifestyle, and upscale shopping and dining.
My Next Pin spent this last weekend at Downtown Palm Beach; therefore, we have decided to share the Top 10 things to do and see there.
Enjoy!
1. Shop at the Iconic Worth Avenue
Worth Avenue is an iconic street called the Rodeo Drive of Palm Beach. It’s located at Downtown Palm Beach’s heart and stretches from Lake Worth to the Atlantic Ocean for four blocks.
Shopping here is a true delight. Not a personal assistant helps you shop but also offers you a glass of champagne or coffee, making you feel like royalty.Â
Worth Avenue carries high-end brands like Louis Vuitton, Bottega Veneta, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Tiffany & Co., and many more.
Historical Fact: Worth Avenue is also the home to the iconic Lilly Pulitzer Brand, and their flagship store was opened in 1959 here in Palm Beach.Â
In fact, during our weekend, we visited the store, and we were impressed not only by the interiors, the dresses, and the accessories but also by the fact that in the store, you can create your custom-made dress from their unique fabric.Â
2. Walk to the Worth Avenue Clock Tower
Walk to this beautiful landmark facing Worth Avenue and the Atlantic Ocean, and you will officially mark your trip to the beach.
There are few palm trees around the clock, but it mainly stands by itself grandiosely.
Enjoy the vista, feel the breeze and synchronize your watch to The Worth Avenue Clock Tower.
Please don’t skip this spot when visiting Palm Beach because it is a glorious sight.
3. Visit Via Mizner and Via Mizner Staircase
Another place you must visit is Via Mizner Avenue.Â
Via Mizner became part of the US National Register of Historic Places on April 1st, 1993.Â
The courtyard and stairs depict Addison Mizner’s Spanish Colonial Style and Architecture, making you feel like you are in Europe.Â
Unique styles combined with decorative detail represent Palm Beach’s signature look featured at multiple locations in Palm Beach.Â
4. Visit the Peruvian Avenue's Insta Famous Door
If you could imagine the spot for the perfect Instagram photo,it would be this Downtown Palm Beach Door, ‘accessorized” with beautiful bougainvillea blooms.Â
The location is just across from Renato’s Restaurant.Â
Visitors Tip:Â The door is on a semi-busy street, so if you want to take a good photo, going there earlier in the morning is the best.
5. Check out the Insta Famous Flowers Wall
In addition to the Peruvian Door, the well-known Flower Wall, tucked in a “hidden alley” next to the Via Mizner entrance, is another excellent Instagram photo/reel spot. The flowers bloom the best in the autumn, but it was also pretty spectacular when we went (during the summer).
Fashion Tip:Â Wear an outfit in turquoise or blue to bounce off the purple and orange from the wall.
6. Stop by Palm Beach Memorial Fountain and Courtyard
Besides designing the famous staircase, the architect Addison Mizner also designed the Palm Beach Memorial, located in the heart of Downtown Palm Beach. It was donated to the city by its residents in 1929, featuring an impressive fountain and a courtyard.Â
7. Stop by the Breakers Hotel
Go by this Renaissance Revival place that represents the most breathtaking vista in Downtown Palm Beach.
Breakers Hotel features 538 rooms across 140 acres of oceanfront property.
The restaurants inside vary from casual beachfront to upscale and sophisticated. This hotel also offers poolside bungalows, a tennis court, Forbes 5-star spa, signature boutiques, a golf court, and much more.Â
This hotel is the most renowned and luxurious in Palm Beach.Â
8. Dine at Cafe Boulud, at the Brazilian Court Hotel
Dine at this upscale French Restaurant, with a premier location at the Brazilian Court Hotel. It features Boulud’s fresh Cousine, warm atmosphere, and top-notch service. Â
We had dinner there Sunday night, and we were genuinely impressed.Â
Our dinner started with the evening special, pasta with truffles, which was delicious, and masterfully prepared and presented. For our entree, we settled for the crusted seabass, and concluded with delicious apricot sorbet.Â
This restaurant is our nu:1 recommendation for dinning in Palm Beach.Â
Cafe Boulud’s Awards
Forbes Travel Guide: Four StarsÂ
Wine Spectator’s: Best of Award of ExcellenceÂ
Interesting Fact:Â The famous Sofia Vergara had her wedding to Joe Manganiello at this property.Â
9. Dine at the Colony Hotel
The Colony Hotel is famous on Instagram due to its charming features.Â
The exterior and interior are unique, decorated in various colors and designs.Â
We did stay here, but we do not recommend it. Let us give you some of the pros and cons of this place.
Pros:
-Charming interior and exterior.Â
-Delicious food.Â
-Excellent location (just off Worth Avenue).
Cons:
-Small rooms.Â
-Thin walls, no privacy.Â
-Part of the staff is unpleasant at times:( Even though they are aware the hotel is Instagram famous, part of the team gets irritated at guests who desire to take photos at the property).Â
Ultimately, we concluded that we should have stayed elsewhere and visited the Colony for lunch. Our stay was quite pricey, but we do not believe we got the value for our money.
10. Go to the Municipal Beach
Conclude your trip by visiting the Municipal Beach and watching the Sunset. It’s pretty spectacular!Â
There are multiple entrances at Ocean Boulevard, and there is no entrance fee.
Visitors Note: Dogs are not allowed at the beach.
