Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery History
Originally built in 1912, this winery roots back to the entreaty of Prohibition. During that same year it planted it roots on the Seattle’s lumber baron, Frederick Stimson estate.
In 1967 they were honored to welcome Andre Tchelistcheff, who introduced a renewed line of premium wines, Ste. Michelle Vintners. That same year, they created a French style winery Chateau in Woodinville, that stands proudly till nowadays, with its restored name Chateau Ste. Michelle . The very first vines were imbedded at Cold Creek Vineyard, Eastern Washington in 1972, followed by Canoe Ridge Estate Vineyard planting its vines in 1991.Nowadays, the winery is celebrating more than 50 years of winemaking.
